TAKE FIVE with Karen...

TAKE FIVE with Karen...

Our April blog presents with a refreshing seasonal refocus!

The boutique is blooming with breath-taking spring/summer fashions and we are blessed to be able to highlight an amazing woman/author who is certain to help all of us blossom.

Meet Karen…

She is a Mom, Spouse, Educator, Mentor, Wellness Coach and Author!

(Note that Karen has an empty petal area that no doubt she will soon label, for Karen is an advocate for life-long self growth.)

I just completed Karen’s Life Guide to stress relief entitled: TAKE 5: A 30 Day Stress Reset to a Calmer, Happier You!!!

WOW, I am blissful with the idea to share her book with my family, friends and of course, last but not least, you and the rest of our 6th & B community!

Reading TAKE 5 is a delightful experience even though the word “stress” triggers negativity. I strongly feel it is a “must read” and I love Karen’s writing style! Her means and methods to alleviate and manage stress are clear, creative, and practical. Her candid comments captured my heart and attentiveness, and truly kept me engaged in her content. Karen’s ability to be so relatable is her authoring super power. A bonus to her stress reset encouragement is her workbook approach to make sure her readers can be accountable with daily action steps.

GREAT NEWS!!!

You are personally invited to meet Karen, hear her presentation, get your very own signed copy of TAKE 5, and engage with other 6th & B friends to comfortably address an important topic. (There will be time to shop with a special TAKE 5 discount!)

Help us celebrate Karen's work!

Saturday, April 11th at 6th & Broadway

 Session 1 starts @ 11:00 a.m.

Session 2 starts @ 1:00 p.m.

In advance, let me share a bit about Karen…

Karen grew up in New Brighton, MN and has a fun romance story that involves two Moms determined to reunite high school sweethearts. She graduated from North Dakota State University with a degree in Agronomy. But it was a college advisor who insightfully thought her destiny was to pursue opportunities and initiatives in the business realm. This career advice and direction proved to be right on.

With sales and marketing experience and an acquired MBA, Karen has passionately taught Marketing, Sales and Management at Alexandria Technical & Community College for 24 years. As a teacher/mentor, Karen's greatest joy comes from challenging students to stretch beyond what they think they can do and then watching them grow into confident young adults.

Karen’s personal journey with Crohn’s disease has shaped the heart of the work she does today as a Life Coach. She loves empowering others to become the strongest, most confident version of themselves.

Karen’s personal mission statement: To live my best life everyday and to inspire others to do the same.

Her faith in God’s plan is inspiring and her heartwarming reflection of being patient to one day hold her adopted infant daughter in her arms is a story I save for Karen to share. It’s that precious!

Writing brings Karen joy and by creating TAKE 5, she is now able to share her wellness tools beyond the classroom. She is reaching many more individuals who may be in need of making changes to their lives. Her goal is to make others happier, healthier and more grounded.

I must share one of Karen’s notable quotes that I believe we can all take to heart:

Peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart.  – Unknown

I close with just a couple of Karen's favorite mantras:

  • You got this!
  • This too shall pass!

And one fun fact: Karen was a competitive speed skater in high school!

With Karen’s drive, I bet she could have been in a Winter Olympics representing the USA! Hey, maybe it’s not too late and that is the missing daisy petal label…
